TGIF... what a week!!!!
"i miss you...
it is as simple and complicated as that"
~Dania

OMG... WHAT A WEEK! I cannot believe that the first week of camp is done! It has been a one hell of a week. I swear, I have gotten about 12-15 hours of sleep, total of this week because I have been SOOO busy with work, and stuff after work. Here is a break down of my days:

Thursday July 1 - Sunday July 4 2004

- I had to work on all of my program planning for the weeks of camp because I was under the impression that I needed to have all seven weeks of camp ALREADY program planned for the first day of camp. So, being late 'n' all, I called my LS, and asked her if they were all due and she said it was NOT! I was so minda mad at myself, but then again, I did five out of the seven, and when I ever do find some time to do the other two weeks, I will do them and yeah.
- Next, I had to make newsletters to go out to all the parents. Well, my camp is divided into three groups. The camp theme this year is The Lion King. My group is the Zazu's, Andrew's group are the Timon and Pumbaa's and Eitan's group is The Hynenas. Actually, it is pretty cool. We needed to make a banner for our group specific group. So, Allie and my Mom helped me out. It turned out really, really good. I will take a picture of it at camp and bring it to my blog so you can see what it looks like..... SO newsletters.. yeah, um, well we need to have some sort of communication with the parents, and so a newsletter has done the trick. We need to have one for every week from each leader. So, I designed them and made them look good on the computer; as well as professional. I did a good job and my co-workers apperciated them very much.

Monday July 5 2004
-FIRST DAY OF CAMP.... omg, what a long day. Andrew and I were incharge of so many things and making sure that things were where they were suppoed to be and shit. It was a hectic day.
- The kids are cool... there are only 30 [therefore, 10 per leader so we keep ratios], and it kinda hard though because if I want to make a game, it might not work with only 7 kids or so. So, I usually group up with Andrew and the kids have a blast.
-On Monday's we have an hour filled with DODGEBALL!!! Well, it did not end up good for me. I went to go and catch the ball so that another kid would not get out, and well, the kid wanted to get it all by himself, and well, he feel on the floor, somehow, and looked at me right in the eyes and KICKED ME IN THE FINGER! It bent forwards or backwards [I am leaning more towards backwards] and it started to swell up BIGTIME! I was freaked out because I so, seriously thought that at that moment I had broken my finger and the FIRST day of camp. I fell right to the floor, and it kinda wa slike no one noticed that I was on the floor. Then I walked over to the bench and sat down with my hands over my face and then Andrew saw it and asked me what was wrong. I told him, in a very not so happy tone [ie.. swear words..lmao] and well, he ran to get me an ice pack and yeah... he gave it to me and told me to put it on my finger so that the swelling would go down... and it did nothing! NOTHING!!!! I had to ride my bike home [ because I bike to work] and it was so easy. I could not really use my left hand [ it affected my left hand, ring finger]. So, it was hard to brake and stuff, but that is that. So, I came home, iced it three more times that night, and when I work up that next morning, it was HUGE
- I needed to talk to Michael on the phone for like 2 hours about the Rotary brochure. He had the program, I have the changes and we needed to do the work together and yeah... we have good communications skills because to do what we was difficult even to do when you are face to face, but think out the diffculty level of doing it over the phone. I felt bad asking him to help me again, because I thought that from the last time that we did it together, I would never have to ask him to do it again, but... I was lying....

Tuesday July 6 2004

- Finger is still bad. It is friggin and swollen. I am unable to move it and it was hard to do things when you know you cannot have your left hand to help you out. It was hard on me and yeah... I needed to be a leader and go swimming at the same time.
- Tuesday is a swimming day, and it was hard. I mean, we have to be so like not playing with the kinds in the water. All I am allowed to do is sit on the side and watch them. Becasuse we dont have lifeguards? yeah... no comment...
- Tuesday after work, I had a Rotary meeting for the district conference and yeah... I had changes to make, and I knew I was needing to be talking to Mike again today, and so, well, he was not home. He was at Daniel's house, and so, I sent the the changes that I had had from before THESE changes, and well, he did them, sent the pdf file to me and well, lo and behold, MORE CHANGES! So, I called him the next day and...

Wednesday July 7 2004

-It is trip day. We went to the Macknezie house downtown, Bay and something... well all I know is that it is read Ryerson, and it is the old house of William Lyon Mackenzie. We went down there on a yellow school bus, and it was really, really fun. Kinds loving going on those, especially when it is CAMP! Well, the kids did like the trip. It was nice to know that we could spend a whole day away from camp and do something different. It also gives a load off out us leaders, as we do not have to program plan. It was fun.
- I had to work the 9-5 shift.. when, for this week I was on the 8-4 shift. I love the 8-4 shift better.... I did it because Eitan wanted to see him girlfriend, and he wanted to spend some time with her.. and so, I said sure. It's like, I'll scratch your back, if you scratch mine. Which is totally fine by me.
- My finger still is bad. Yet, I can KINDA able to bend it, but not really. Every time I saw the shithead camper that did it to me, I wanted to box his face in... ... ...
- Well, when I got home, I called Mike at work and told him that I need to have him help me again. This time, we were on the phone for 4 hours. It was looOOOONG! But, I did all the talking. Like 20 minutes into the conversation, his cordless headphone phone went bizzerk, and yeah... he could not talk, but he could hear what Iw as saying. So I did all the talking, as he did all the responses in MSN messenger... yeah... out communication skills need to be PERFECT when it is done like that. It was difficult. I was so tired, and I bet he was too, and I felt sooooooooooooooooo bad for asking him to help me with it and also to do it, and he said he enjoyed helping and said I would do the same for him, and he is right, I would, but what he has done for me was incredable. I am soooo in his debt. I love him so much for helping me, I just want him to know that. I miss him. Mike, if you are reading this.. know that I do.
- It was a late night. I was in bed for 4:00 am, and was up at 7:00 am. It was most definitly a long day at camp the next day... ... ...

Thursday July 8 2004

- My finger is starting to get better, but it still hurts. It is purple beyond belief, but it is getting better.
-Thursday is also a siwn day, and yeah, no fun with te kinds. Also, the water is like a gagillion degrees below zero, and it was so cold and so shallow. I mean, when I was wearing my bathing suit, I felt so fat, with my tummy hanging out.. and stuff, so I got a kid to stand in front of me, so kinda cover it. I wish I could be a little skinner... yet, that is for another blog
-I had, the night before, burned the final, FINAL copy of the brochure thing on CD, and I was instructed to send the CD by Purolator to the printing company. So, I had to, on my break, take Eitan's bike to a convienence store and send the file out by Purolator. I did that, took out money as well as rode back to came in 13 minues flat! I was to be back at camp for 3:00 pm, and I was there at 2:28pm! Yeah me.
-After work was done, (4 o'clock), I had to wait for Genio to come to work to pick me up because we both had a Rotaract Meeting at York. So, when he walked into the room at 4:50 pm, when he was SUPPOSED TO BE THERE at 4:25pm, he looked sooooo good. He smelled heavenly. I wanted to kiss him so bad. But I knew that I could not and yeah... he was sooo cute. His hair looked good, he smelled heavenly, he was just want my tired eyes needed to see. I swear that! We left from Camp, then went to York and had the meeting. I did not get home until 9:00pm, and stayed up until 12:30. I had to do some things
- I had like 4 calls to return from people that called me from Rotary regarding the brochure. I had 6 e-mails to respond to as well as camp stuff to do. I had to make up questions to make up about the world for a gamr that I needed to do on Friday...

Friday July 9 2004

- Today was a tough day. I was tired. I just so wanted to just sleep. I did not want to wake up this morning. I mean, I needed like an extra decade to catch up on the sleep that I have missed over the past week and a half. I needed to have a shower and hairwash [as everyday, but I did not wash my hair yesterday, because my finger was still hurting].
- Finger is MUCH better. Like I can bend it and it is a lot better. Thank God!
- Camp was good. Andrew, Eitan and I had a whole lot of laughs today because my kids are so funny. I mean, they just say the funniest things. One of the questions I asked was hoe many states are there in America... one of the kids said 12... I laughed, I could not hold it in. I was pretty funny. Well, My game was Around the World/Secret Square. It is I have a set of questions that correspond to a specific square. If you land on the square, you need to answer the question right to earn the right to move to another square, BUT, I had a set pattern in which they needed to follow, so it would be like 3, 4, 8, 10, 15, 22.. something like that, and if you started on 3, then you needed to stick to that and see where the square you needed to go. But, if you wanted to move to square 6, it is not in the pattern, so the next person would go and that perosn would need to start back all the way at the beginning and answer the old question as well as new ones as you try to continue to the otherside. It was a lot of un to see the answers that they would make up to the questions I asked. They all thought that the gambling state in the U.S.A was Texas... quite the funny stuff. Andrew made Chinese Lanterns (very, very cool) and Eitan played some games outside. After that, Sophie when out and bought ice cream for ice cream cones. So the kids had vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. I dont like vanilla ice cream, so I made two cones for Andrew, and it was so funny, he had the syrup all over hiim... his neck, arms, mouth.. it was so CUTE! He was talking to parents and he was having this chocolate on his face. I told him to clrean it over and over again... lmao.. he did not want to do it.

Well, yeah... it has been a long week, and I want to go to sleep myself. But I want to take this time to thanks Michael. He has helped me so much this past week. I mean, he did not complain for helping me. All the time that he was helping me, I was crying. the tears were just streaing down my face. Not for any bad reason, but just the fact that I was so blessed to have him help me... Mike... I thank you from the bottom of my heart... you know that... forever and always! I am in your debt, and I owe you big time! [Christina.. make sure Mike reads this for me. Thanks! ]
